I’m Gabe, a fourth year at Pomona College pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science!
Worked with the LinkedIn Learning enterprise team to create a new content merchandising feature. Enterprise curators can now choose to display their names and profile pictures with their content! Collaborated with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers to learn about all areas of the tech stack and about the feature ramp process.
Helped the engineering team of Kalibrr, a Southeast-Asian online job platform start-up transition from HTTP/1.x to HTTP/2.0 communication amongst their microservices. Conducted research on the feasibility of this change to ascertain realiability, robustness, and backwards-compatibility.
Serve as a mentor for students in Data Structures and Advanced Programming, guiding them through intricate weekly labs and assignments. Grade students' weekly projects, offers criticism and suggestions, and refines the autograder for future classes. Recently desginated as head TA to work and communicate with the professor directly. I report observations, provide feedback, and organize TA meetings.
I wrote scripts to manage the CRM of MiddleTree, a non-profit education institution. Also developed and designed the sign-in/sign-out page for children and parents that updates the daily users in MiddleTree's database.
Managed tutorials of version control (i.e. Git) through Pomona's Hahn Grant: Teaching with Technology program. The grant focuses on encouraging the use of society's advancing tech in non-STEM fields!
I served as an outreach leader for a community of engineers and computer scientists. Also in charge of generating interest in CS amongst high school students and enlightening aspiring engineers about software tools and development environments.
